New recordings for 2024!
Firstly, Thunder Lizard - a trio comprising two friends I have long enjoyed playing with for most of the past decade (guitarist Jared Burrows and Joe Poole on drums). This is something of a reunion given that we were unable to play for a number of years following the pandemic, but something of a new chapter in the ongoing evolution of this trio.

I love the balance of compositions, strong personalities and musicality of this band, that allow me the space to play the Hammond in a very individual manner. (The name 'Thunder Lizard' arose as one of our early gigs occurred on the week that the Brontosaurus was reclassified as a dinosaur).
Saxophonist and clarinetist Ben Henriques was one of my first friends upon moving to Vancouver and we have been sidemen on many session projects since that time. Like me, Ben was also resident Vancouver Island during his tenure leading the music program at Vancouver Island University. Following a duo gig for Nanaimo Jazz festival association we continued spending most of a year meeting weekly building a rapport as a duo and exploring a range of our compositions and improvisations.

Ben is also a talented graphical artist and painted the beautiful cover image that you see.
Both sessions were recorded at my home in Vancouver Island.
